We are very excited to announce the release of a brand new Cometdebris figure, Sametan (pronounced saw-meh-tahn). Sametan was designed by Koji Harmon, and sculpted by the talented Kiyoka Ikeda. Sametan stands about 11.5cm tall, and willl be made in Japan of high quality soft vinyl.





With reconnected fins, shoes, jeans, and a fancy spade belt buckle, Sametan is here to help spread the word about the plight of sharks worldwide. Did you know sharks are being overfished in many parts of the world, and many shark populations have declined by as much as 90%? Our oceans are dying, and when they die, so do we.





Every Sametan release will benefit PangeaSeed, a grassroots organization based in Tokyo, Japan dedicated to educating and raising international awareness on the plight of sharks and the destruction of their habitat. PangeaSeed is the first organization in Japan to raise public awareness regarding shark conservation and preservation.





Sametan will debut in San Francisco at PangeaSeed’s inaugural transcontinental art exhibition, Sink or Swim, featuring original works from 30 internationally renowned artists. The debut release is cast in beautiful crystal clear blue vinyl, unpainted, and is limited to 25 pieces. For those unable to attend the event, we will also have a limited number available on the Cometdebris website, on sale September 24th at 11:00AM Japan Time (September 23rd at 7:00PM California Time). Price is $40.

Sloth 'n' Moth show pieces are now available for purchase on the Grass Hut website. Pictured above is Cometdebris' custom sloth, done on neon pink vinyl.

The "Sloth 'n' Moth" sloth show is opening at Grass Hut this Thursday. Graves & Spoons will be making their vinyl toy debut at the event, with several custom sloths by artists from the US and Japan. In addition, other sloth inspired artwork will be put on display. Cometdebris will have one custom figure in the show. Check back for pics. Show opens May 5th at Grass Hut in Portland.

 





Japanese Vinyl, Kaiju & Beyond is Gargamel's first exhibition at Rotofugi. The show will feature new customs and artwork by Gargamel and friends, including several Cometdebris pieces. In addition, a new sculpt will be making its debut at the event. Opening Friday, December 10th, from 7-10PM, with Kiyoka Ikeda and Koji Harmon in attendance. Show runs through January 9th.

Summer means Comic Con and the Kappa Exhibition!





Cometdebris will be joining Gargamel and Grass Hut at Comic Con (booth number 4739), with some custom figures and a limited edition Tokoji Seijin release (above). This exclusive Tokoji is cast in creamy yellow vinyl, sprayed with green and blue metallics, and features a splattered shell and angry eyes. Limited edition of 5, available Preview Night at Comic Con. For those who can't make it to Comic Con, watch the website for a few customs to be added to the online store soon afterwards.





Cometdebris will also be participating in the "Kappa Ten" kappa exhibition in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. In addition to some custom Tokoji Seijin figures, several photographs will be on display featuring Tokoji Seijin in his natural environment. The show features kappa inspired work from a wide rage of artists. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Tokyo! More details on the events page.

7月9日(木)〜21日(火)11:00〜18:30(水曜休廊、最終日17:00)まで、池袋駅にあるアーティストガーデンで開催される河童展に参加します。この河童展は、様々なアーティストによる河童の影響を受けたアート作品の展示会です。数々のトコジ星人のカスタムペイントと写真を展示していますので、皆さんに足を運んでいただけると嬉しいです。また、11日(土)17:00〜18:30まで、同会場にてカッパ巻パーティーがあるので、時間がある方は是非パーティーにもご参加ください!皆さんのご来場をお待ちしています!

We will be releasing an exclusive Tokoji Seijin at the upcoming Artshocker Show Tokyo. This version is cast in double layered vinyl (clear blue with glow on the inside) and features purple, brown, yellow, and silver sprays, with neon yellow eyes. It will go on sale on March 12th at Artshocker Show Tokyo, located at the CCAA Art Plaza in Yotsuya, Tokyo. We will also have a limited number of these available here in the online store, to be released shortly after the event closes. Stay tuned for detailed release information.
